This rewind starter was used on 300 and 340 Twin cylinder fan cooled engines from 1978 to the combination of rewind and cover when bought new would retail very close to the plastic cover is now obsolete and cannot be bought from a dealer. The photos shows a plastic cover that bolts to the rewind starter that captures fresh air through vents in the hood and is not applicable to all model's. The rewind starter has a new rope.
